Distinguish between Believers and Unbelievers

Bismillahi Rahmani Raheemsufi_saints31

Allahumma Swalli Alaa Sayyidina Muhammadin Wa Ala Aali Sayyidina Muhammadin Wa Sallim

Today so many people from east to west especially people who are following other faiths, misunderstanding Islam, because they are seeing some Muslim named people causing destruction and tribulations!.

The truth is, all these ideologies that spread hatred and mischief coming from Satan. Islam is the religion of Peace and Safety. Not a religion of distress and destruction.

So people of the other faith must know what is the difference between Islam and those so called groups who claim they represent Islam.

Muslims must know and follow the correct creed of Islam. So that they may not get fooled by Satan and those agents of Satan!

Who has more right and absolute authority to say who is believer and who is unbeliever?. Of course the full right and absolute authority belongs to Prophet Muhammad (alaihiswalathu wa salam), since you cannot hear the voice of God!

So what did Prophet (alaihiswalathu wa salam) say about believers and unbelievers?

1- It was narrated that Anas Ibn Malik (R.A) said: The Messenger of Allah (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “There are three things ,whoever attains them will find therein the sweetness of Faith: When Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, and His Messenger are dearer to him than all else;when he loves for the sake of Allah and hate for the sake of Allah; when he prefer to be thrown into the fire rather than go back to the disbelief  from which Allah has saved him” (Sahih Hadith, Sunan Nasa’i, Vol 6  PPage 16/17,Hadith 4990,4991,4992,Darussalam Publications.

So it is clear that there cannot be real faith without loving Allah and His Prophet (alaihiswalathu wa salam. Then how can they have faith, who says loving and praising Prophet (alaihiswalathu wa salam) excessively is an act of shirk and bidha (polytheism and innovation)!?

How can someone attain sweetness of faith, if he do not love for the sake of Allah and do not hate for the sake of Allah?. How can someone hate the fellow Muslims and call them Mushrik and grave worshipper when he is a Muslim? How can a true Muslim associate himself with those who do not love Allah and His Prophet (alaihiswalathu wa salam) and slander pious scholars and Muslims?

“Whoever kills a person [unjustly]…it is as though he has killed all mankind. And whoever saves a life, it is as though he had saved all mankind.” (Qur’an, 5:32)

“Al Muslimu man salima-nnaasu min lisaanihi wa Yadihi, wal muminu man aminahunnaasu alaa dima’ihim wa amwaalihim” [Sahih (authentic) Hadith, Sunan Nasai 4998, Arabic-English Volume 6 ,Darussalam Publications)]

2- It was narrated from Abu Hurairah (R.A) that the Messenger of Allah (Swallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “The Muslim is the one from whose tongue and hand the people are safe, and the believer is the one from whom the people’s lives and wealth are safe” (Sunan Nasai)

The “Naas” is used here, which means “People”. People of all faiths, color, creed, race and caste.  So it is clear that a Muslim is the one who does not harm people with his tongue and hand, A Mumin (believer/one who is attained the faith) is he whom the people’s lives and wealth are safe.

This is the completion of the religion of Prophets.

The Ten Commandments says the same. You shall not murder and you shall not lie, you shall not steal others property.

Sahih Bukhari Book 88 Hadith 198  Narrated Ibn ‘Umar: I heard the Prophet saying, “Do not revert to disbelief after me by striking (cutting) the necks of one another.”

3- It was narrated that Anas (R.A) said: The Messenger of Allah alaihiswalathu wa salam) said: “Whoever prays as we pray, turn to face the same Qibla as us, and eat our slaughtered animals, that is a Muslim (Sunan Nasai , Darussalam, Haidh number 4500)

So it is in appropriate to call some Muslims as mushrik/kaafir or grave worshiper with the fulfillment of the above three ahadith in the same book (Sunan Nasa’i).

Most Virtuous Islam:

It was narrated that Abu Musa (R.A) said: “I said O Messenger of Allah , whose Islam is most virtuous?’ He said: “The one from whose tongue and hand the Muslims are Safe” (Sahih).

So my brothers and sisters follow the most virtuous Muslims among you. It does not mean to stop speaking and warning against the evil that the sects violate in regards to the above hadiths.

Because Prophet alaihiswalathu wa salam says: On the authority of Abu Sa’eed al-Khudree (may Allah be pleased with him) who said:I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say, “Whoso- ever of you sees an evil, let him change it with his hand; and if he is not able to do so, then [let him change it] with his tongue; and if he is not able to do so, then with his heart — and that is the weakest of faith.” [Muslim] 40 Hadith Nawawi, Sunan Nasai 5012

And note that Islam does not allow to counter evil with evil, that is not the way of Islam!.

4-It was narrated that Anas (R.A) said: The Messenger of Allah (alaihiswalathu wa salam) said: “None of you has believed until I am dearer to him than his family ,his wealth and all the people” (Sunan Nasa’i, 5017 , also 5016,5018)

5- It was narrated that Qatada (R.A) said: I heard Anas say:, (Humaid ibn Mas’dah said in his Hadith), the Messenger of Allah (alaihiswalathu wa salam) said: “None of you has believed until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself” (Sahih, Sunan Nas’ai),

also in 40 Hadith Imam Nawawi.

6- It was narrated that Zirr said: Ali said: “The Unlettered Prophet (alaihiswalathu wa salam) made a covenant with me, that none but a believer would love me, and none but a hypocrite would hate me”. (Sahih, Sunan Nasa’i 5021 ,Darussalam Publications, Vol 6 Page 36 also 5025)

7- Quran 4:49 O you who have believed, obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority among you.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (alaihiswalathu wa salam) said: “The signs of hypocrites are three: When he speaks, he lies; when he makes a promise he breaks it; and when he is entrusted with something, he betrays t(that trust).” [Sahih ,Sunan Nasa’i 5024) also 5026: “whoever has one of this (traits) then a trait of hypocrisy has not ceased him, until he leaves it”.

It was narrated from Ibn Umar that the Messenger of Allah (alaihiswalathu wa salam) said: ” The parable of the hypocrite is that of a sheep, that hesitate between two flocks., sometimes following one and sometimes following another, not knowing which to follow.” (Sahih, Sunan Nasa’i 5040)

The believers and unbelievers have some attributes that can be recognized. The believer (Mumin) whose spirit shine forth with the light of Allah.

8- Haristh bin Wahb  narrated that the Messenger of Allah (alaihiswalathu wa salam): “Shall I not tell you about the people of Paradise?. Every weak and oppressed one. Shall I not tell you the people of Hell?. Every harsh, haughty and arrogant one” (Sahih, Sunan Ibn Majah Volume 5 Hadith 4116, Darussalam Publications)

This Hadith has co-relating description in it. The people of hell oppress and weaken the Muslims for example by slandering and accusing shirk and kufr on them.

9– It was narrated from  Asma Bint Yazid that she heard the Messenger of Allah (swalla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) say: “Shall I not tell you the best of you?”. They said: “Yes, O Messenger of Allah”. He said: “The best of you are those who , when they are seen, Allah the Mighty, the Majestic , is remembered” (Hasan) Sunan Ibn Majah  4119, Darussalam Publications)

Only Awliya Allah (Friends of Allah and the way of Sufi Shaykhs) perfected the Islamic ethics, morals and manners, and taking the middle path as a middle nation.

Any other sects you look, they have malice against Awliya Allah, or malice against some Sahaba or malice against some ahlul bayth or malice against some pious scholars.

Ahlu Sunna Wal Jamah-The Madhab following Sufi creed always stayed on the straight path according to the Quran and Sunnah, as we read above.

Sahih Bukhari Book 77 Hadith 595 Narrated Imran bin Husain: A man said, “O Allah’s Apostle! Can the people of Paradise be known (differentiated) from the people of the Fire; The Prophet replied, “Yes.” The man said, “Why do people (try to) do (good) deeds?” The Prophet said, “Everyone will do the deeds for which he has been created to do or he will do those deeds which will be made easy for him to do.” (i.e. everybody will find easy to do such deeds as will lead him to his destined place for which he has been created).

So this sufficient for those who have some knowledge in Islam, to understand the meaning of Believers and unbelievers.

Our Shaykh Sahibu Saif Waliyullahi Hazret Shaykh Abdul Kerim  Al-Kibrisi (Q.S) explaining in a question and answer section. When I listen to Shaykh’s sohbets some Ahadith came to my heart, then i was inspired to write an article to explain the words of our Shaykh in detail for those who want proof from Quran and Sunnah.

We can see the Shaykh’s words are 100% Haqq according to the Quran and Hadith mentioned in this post.
